The sample, so you know what to expect
Four debts, $23,990 to start. After eight months of statements, $18,322.21 is left: $5,667.79 paid off, 23.63%, so 23 of the 100 squares are colored. The store card is gone in month 7.

How it works
- Print the pages you want. List your debts and number them in snowball or avalanche order.
- Color as you go. Each month, write the new balance and color the squares you have paid off.
- Or use the file. Check the sample first (every row in Sample check shows ✓), then type in your own debts and balances.
Questions
What size do the pages print?
US Letter (8.5 × 11 in). They also print on A4 with "fit to page" turned on.
How does the coloring chart work?
Divide your starting debt by 100. Every time you pay off that much, color one square. The workbook version colors the squares for you from your balances.
Should I use the snowball or the avalanche order?
The snowball pays the smallest balance first for quick wins; the avalanche pays the highest rate first and costs less interest. The worksheet numbers both so you can pick.
Is the interest exact?
It is an estimate: balance × APR ÷ 12. Card issuers use your daily balance, so your statement can differ a little.
Does it work in Excel and Google Sheets?
Yes. You get an Excel file (.xlsx), a Google Sheets version and the PDF.
