Tax rules differ

Rules about rental income, expenses, depreciation and sales differ between countries, states and years, and they change. Where a guide mentions a rule or form for one country, such as the United States, it is a pointer to check, not a statement that the rule applies to you. The templates do not know your tax rules. You decide, or your adviser decides, what is taxable or deductible and where each total goes on your return.

Your numbers, your decisions

A template's results are only as good as the numbers you type in. Projections of rent, costs, value growth and returns are estimates, not forecasts or promises. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any property or investment.

Examples

The properties and amounts in the examples are made up to show how the calculations work. They do not describe real properties, markets or results.

Checking the templates

Each template is checked against worked examples before it is sold, and comes with a Sample check tab so you can see this for yourself. Mistakes can still happen. If you find one, email [email protected] and it will be fixed for everyone.
